    A traditional method that creates the illusion of very thin, neat joints. A groove is cut into the joint and filled with a contrasting color of putty or mortar. 

    Flush pointing:
    Mortar is finished to be completely even with the face of the brickwork. This provides a clean, contemporary look but can collect dirt 
     
     
  • Recessed pointing:
    The mortar is pressed back, creating a shadow gap between the bricks. This is a durable, weather-resistant option. 
     
    • WeatherStruck pointing:
      A sloping profile is created by pressing the top edge of the mortar back, which helps water run off the surface
       
  • Beaded pointing:
    The mortar is formed into a convex, rounded "bead" that protrudes slightly from the joint.
